Tom Izzo has been working hard to get Michigan State’s 2019 class going, even paying Rocket Watts a visit at his new school, Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio, this past week.

That visit made it seem like Watts was back to the top of the Spartans’ 2019 recruiting board, but no one could have envisioned it would have been the difference in his recruitment — assuming that’s when he knew he wanted to be a Spartan.
On Saturday evening, the four-star point guard, originally from Detroit, committed to Michigan State over the likes of Florida State, Louisville, Michigan, Oregon, USC and Xavier, among others.
