The first half had the feeling of “one of those games” for Michigan State. Penn State had made 10-of-14 shots from 3-point range and it had a 15-point lead over the Spartans.
And then Michigan State stormed back. The Spartans erased that huge Penn State lead within five minutes of the second half and then took a 10-point lead with over nine minutes to go. They didn’t look back, holding on to a lead for the remainder of the game to improve to 21-9 on the season and 13-6 in conference play.
Even more exciting is the fact that Maryland lost at Rutgers which brings the Spartans into a first-place tie with the Terrapins with one game to go in the season.
