EAST LANSING -- Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis announced his resignation on Friday morning amid the fallout from the school's Larry Nassar scandal.
Hollis announced his resignation at a Friday morning press conference on campus, speaking through tears as he spoke emotionally about the survivors of Nassar's abuse and his mission as an athletic director about providing health and safety.
"I've always been a Spartan and I always will be," Hollis said. "It's been an absolute honor to lead the athletic department for the past decade.
"I'm not running away from anything. I'm running toward something.
