Add another graduate transfer to Michigan State’s defensive line for the fall.
Defensive end Gabe Sherrod said becoming a Spartan is the “opportunity of a lifetime” after leaving Delaware State, a Football Championship Subdivision program.
Sherrod, who plans to arrive in East Lansing on July 11, will be eligible immediately. He previously had agreed to go to Syracuse, but Orange coaches told Scout.com in June that they would not accept his commitment.
The 6-foot-4, 266-pound Sherrod is a converted wide receiver/tight end who had 64 tackles and eight sacks last season as a redshirt junior for the Hornets, earning a spot on the Historically Black College and University (HBCU) All-America Team.
