Bill Beekman is getting a raise.
The newly-hired Michigan State athletic director has signed a five-year contract with a base salary of $750,000. Beekman was making $400,000 as the secretary of the university's Board of trustees.
This base salary is more than what former athletic director Mark Hollis made. In 2015, Hollis had a base salary of $667,000 with an an annual stay bonus of $197,000 and also a $53,000 contribution to a 401(a) retirement plan.
