Michigan, Michigan State surge in AP, coaches polls

Michigan was among the biggest climbers in the latest Associated Press Top 25, released Sunday.

The Wolverines (2-1), fresh off a 56-10 belting of Nebraska, jumped five spots to No. 14 in the poll. Michigan State (2-1), meanwhile, also moved up, climbing three positions to No. 21 after its 35-21 road victory over Indiana.

Michigan jumped six spots to No. 15 in the coaches poll, while Michigan State climbed to No. 18 — up five spots.

After a season-high seven ranked teams lost, the back half of the AP college football poll got a makeover.
