Michigan hockey powers past Michigan State, 6-2, on two goals from Luke Hughes

Even with its top four scorers away at the Winter Olympics, Michigan hockey remains in capable hands.

The Wolverines, much to the delight of a sold-out Yost Arena crowd, rolled to a 6-2 victory over rival Michigan State, which lost for the ninth straight time.

Without Matty Beniers and Brendan Bisson, both with Team USA, and Kent Johnson and Owen Power, playing for Canada in Beijing, U-M proved it has plenty of offensive scoring punch, with a 35-20 shot advantage.
