Michigan football vs. MSU: New Big Ten Network documentary will get your blood boiling

You hate the Wolverines and love the Spartans.

Then Thursday’s premier of the Big Ten Network’s “Divided We Stand” surely will get your Green and Maize blood boiling.

The documentary on the in-state rivalry will debut on FS1 at 11 p.m. Thursday after MSU’s basketball team faces Seton Hall, a perfect prelude to Saturday’s annual rivalry at noon in Ann Arbor (Fox). It also will air later on Big Ten Network.

The primary focus is on the recent history of the two schools’ football and men’s basketball programs since 2007, condensing much of the bitterness of the previous 100-plus years into a few early vignettes that hit on some key moments — Bo Schembechler flipping MSU’s football dominance of the 1950s and ‘60s over the following two decades, the 1990 Eddie Brown trip of Desmond Howard and MSU’s upset of then-No.
