Both of Michigan's Big Ten football programs lost a defender to the transfer portal to start the new year.
Michigan State football defensive back Tate Hallock and Michigan football linebacker Deuce Spurlock each joined the portal, per the Free Press' Rainer Sabin.
Hallock, a junior listed at 6 feet 4 and 210 pounds, appeared in four games for the Spartans this past season and has a forced fumble in his Spartan career. He attended Forest Hills Central in Grand Rapids and was a three-star recruit when he committed to MSU in 2018.
