Matt McQuaid's absence continues to stretch Michigan State's rotation

Michigan State left Orleans Arena in Las Vegas more than a week ago thinking it had a fully healthy team for one of its most difficult stretches of the season

On the plane ride home the Spartans found out they actually weren't fully healthy, when a thigh bruise suffered by senior guard Matt McQuaid swelled up at high altitude and left him barely able to walk.

Now, more than a week later, McQuaid's return to the court still uncertain.

"This is the strangest injury," Spartans coach Tom Izzo said.

Michigan State glad to close four-game road swing with three wins

McQuaid has now missed the Spartans' last two games against Louisville and Rutgers, and that absence could stretch into a third game.
