Saturday was a good day to be a Spartan. First, College GameDay took a visit to East Lansing for the big game and then Michigan State took down No. 7 Maryland at home 74-65 in front of a raucous, mean green-clad crowd.

It was a game to remember for many Spartans, including Bryn Forbes, who scored 25 points, and Denzel Valentine, who nearly recorded a triple-double with 19 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists.
However, Matt Costello was the real hero on Saturday night as the senior center had arguably his best game in a Michigan State uniform, recording 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
