The Atlanta Hawks are giving Matt Costello a chance to live out his NBA dream.
After the former Michigan State Spartans big man didn't hear his name called during the 2016 NBA Draft, Costello agreed to join the Hawks' summer league team, where he made a great impression on the team. That earned him a contract with the Hawks, which the team announced had been signed on Tuesday.
It's reportedly a two-year, non-guaranteed deal, so it looks like Costello is still facing an uphill battle to crack an NBA roster once the 2016-17 season opens, but just getting invited to training camp would be a nice accomplishment.
