Michigan State bolstered their 2017 recruiting class with the commitment of Matt Carrick, who announced the news Wednesday afternoon on Twitter:

Carrick, a 6-4, 275-pound offensive lineman out of Perry High School (OH), is rated as a three-star prospect and the 40th-ranked offensive guard in the 2017 class by 247 Sports. The guys at Scout.com have him a little higher as the 26th-ranked guard for 2017. He also holds scholarship offers from Iowa State, Akron, Miami (OH), Toledo and Ohio. Pittsburgh and Ohio State have also been recruiting Carrick, though have yet to offer him.
