EAST LANSING — Kirk Cousins visited Michigan State’s practice this week and met one-on-one with all of the quarterbacks.
That included Brian Lewerke, who appreciated it but would not reveal much about the pep talk.
“I don’t want to talk about it exactly. He did give me some advice on just football and life,” Lewerke said Saturday. “He’s a smart guy, he has an answer for everything.”
Regardless of what was said in that 10-minute chat, the Lewerke in the Spartans’ spring game Saturday was different than the one who struggled to the finish of an admittedly frustrating and injury-hampered 2018 season.
