EAST LANSING - After being left off the roster at the start of spring practice in February, Jalen Watts-Jackson's Michigan State career may already have been over.
The fifth-year senior safety's time with the Spartans officially ended last week when he announced via Twitter his intention to seek a graduate transfer for his final season of eligibility.
Watts-Jackson became a Michigan State legend when he returned a fumbled punt attempt 38 yards for a touchdown as time expired to lift the Spartans to an improbable 27-23 win at Michigan in 2015.
"Jalen will always have a place here," Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said on Tuesday.
