EAST LANSING -- The animosity between Michigan and Michigan State started with a confrontation two hours before the game.
It continued with words exchanged after the outcome was decided and No. 6 Michigan beat No. 24 Michigan State 21-7 on Saturday afternoon in East Lansing.
When Michigan State players arrived at Spartan Stadium for the team's traditional pregame walk, there were Michigan players already on the field. The Spartans, who were wearing warm-ups and helmets, continued on their walk, arms linked, and there was a confrontation with Michigan players in front of Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio.
