CHICAGO -- When Mark Dantonio heard that a 19-year veteran of an NFL front office was nearby, available and looking to stay involved in football, he hatched a creative plan he hopes will help improve Michigan State's football program.
Michigan State announced last week that Shelton White has been hired as a program consultant. White spent nearly two decades with the Detroit Lions, and served as the team's interim general manager last year.
White began his role on Monday, and as Dantonio explained this week at Big Ten media days, his duties are expected to be wide-ranging.
