EAST LANSING — In the hours before his first chance to become Michigan State football's all-time winningest coach, Mark Dantonio continued to deflect from the attention.
Instead, on his pregame radio show, the 13th-year head coach told Spartan Sports Network that the No. 20 Spartans' biggest focus needs to be on the moment.
"I feel like 3-0 is better — 3-0 gets you to 110, 2-1 does not," Dantonio said.
Dantonio enters Saturday's final nonconference game against Arizona State (4 p.m., Fox) tied with Duffy Daugherty at 109 career victories with the Spartans.
