EAST LANSING — Maybe it will be Detroit. Maybe New York. Those destinations are the likely bowl landing spots for Michigan State football in the next month.
Ignore the cold-weather stigma and conventional thoughts about what a postseason trip should be. For the Spartans to get to a 12th bowl game in the past 13 years under Mark Dantonio is important.
Hat-worthy? Maybe not. But he did not give his players those caps before getting bowl eligible as a celebratory artifact.
