Sure, it's not the Rose Bowl, but Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio wasn't complaining about his team being selected Sunday to play Oregon in the Redbox Bowl on Dec. 31 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
That means a trip to the Bay Area, one year after the Spartans spent late December in San Diego for a Holiday Bowl victory against Washington State.
"It will be exciting for our guys," Dantonio said of the Redbox Bowl on a Sunday teleconference with reporters. "A lot of our players have never been out there and, from my experience, San Francisco is an amazing town and they have a lot to offer and a lot of things to see for our football team.
