The two men who brought Michigan State its first college basketball national championship are forever linked, Magic Johnson and Jud Heathcote.
So when the news of Heathcote's death hit late Monday night, Johnson took to Twitter to extend his condolences and make his appreciation known.
Heathcote won 339 games at Michigan State, including that 1979 national championship. He died at age 90 at his home in Spokane, Washington.

My college Coach Jud Heathcote will be missed so much. He was a great man & basketball coach who truly cared about me on & off the court.
