EAST LANSING – Michigan State junior receiver Monty Madaris was just happy to be out there for the first time after missing the first four games with a thigh contusion, and he said of his performance against Purdue: “Just adds on more to our offense, gives us another threat.”
It might be an important threat. MSU co-offensive coordinator Dave Warner said this week that Madaris’ ability to stretch the field vertically and be physical as a blocker give him a chance for a growing role for the No. 4 Spartans (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday at Rutgers (2-2, 0-1) and beyond.
