As she looked back on what she might have gone differently when it comes to Michigan State University's handling of Larry Nassar, Lou Anna Simon wished the university's bureaucratic system had been better equipped to both detect the warning signs and to elevate them.
When taking questions from senators on Capitol Hill Tuesday, the former Michigan State University president said MSU has a lot to learn from the Nassar sexual abuse scandal, and said she'd like to be a part of the recovery process.
"While we acted imperfectly and wish we had known sooner, I would like to very much be a part of the solution," she said.
