Lorenzo Guess takes over strength and conditioning for Michigan State basketball

Lorenzo Guess took the walk from Michigan State’s football and basketball facilities many times as a two-sport athlete in the late 1990s.

Twenty-five years later, he’s making it again.

The Spartans on Thursday announced Guess as their new head of basketball strength and conditioning. He rejoins his former hoops coach Tom Izzo and replaces Marshall Repp, who left the program earlier this month.

“Michigan State has always felt like home to me, and this opportunity is truly a dream come true,” Guess said in a statement. “I have a special relationship with Coach Izzo and the staff, having met him when I was just 14 years old.
