Live updates: Rutgers swarming MSU, takes 14-7 lead

The Scarlet Knights keep coming, and after forcing a three and out on defense it took them only two plays to take the lead.

Chris Laviano found Leonte Carroo for the second time in three plays, this time for 39 yards that gave Rutgers a 14-7 lead with 13:11 left in the second quarter.

It didn’t take long for Rutgers to answer as running back Paul James broke through for a 72-yard run on the Scarlet Knights’ first drive of the next series. He was tackled by defensive back Darian Hicks, but Rutgers scored on the next play to tie the game at 7.
