Live updates: Iowa takes lead on FG, may have lost top RB

Hawkeyes grab lead, Canzeri injured

Iowa decided to roll the dice on 4th-and-4 from the MSU 20-yard line, but a false start penalty forced it to settle for a 43-yard field goal from Marshall Koehn.

It's now 6-3, Iowa leads, with 13:28 to play in the second half.

Facing 3rd-and-7 at midfield, CJ Beathard completed a 8-yard pass to Jacob Hillyer. If that wasn't bad enough, Malik McDoweel was called for a 15-yard hands to the face penalty setting the Hawkeyes up inside the MSU 25.

Jordan Canzeri, Iowa's star running back, had to be helped off the field with an apparent leg injury following a 9-yard gain on the second play of the possession.
