Live MSU blog: Spartans stall in Hoosier territory

The Spartans marched in to Hoosier territory, but were forced to punt after a crucial holding penalty wiped out a first down.

Tyler O’Connor found Josiah Price for eight yards on second-and-16, before connecting with R.J. Shelton for a gain of 18 to get the first down. Gerald Holmes then picked up 22 yards on the next play, taking the Spartans into Hoosier territory. However the Spartans stalled, bringing up a fourth-and-8 from the Indiana 33. O’Connor appeared to pick up the first down, however a holding penalty erased the run and brought up fourth-and-13. Jake Hartbarger’s punt was fielded by Mitchell Paige at the Indiana 10, where he called for a fair catch.
