It seems that every good throw from Tyler O’Connor is met with one or two bad ones.
On third-and-13, O’Connor connected with Donnie Corley for a gain of 13, giving the Spartans a first down. The Spartans stalled, after a pair of bad throws from O’Connor (intended for Felton Davis and Corley). The Spartans, on the punt, were called for kick catch interference, giving the Hoosiers the ball at their own 45 to start the drive. Late in the second quarter, the Spartans have a 7-0 lead.
