MASON - The first day of Larry Nassar's preliminary hearing on 15 sexual assault charges begins this morning in 55th District Court.
The charges relate to seven women and girls who say Nassar sexually assaulted them during medical appointments, including many at his Michigan State University office.
He faces 13 other criminal charges in state and federal courts and up to life in prison if convicted.
Nassar worked for decades at MSU and with USA Gymnastics. The university fired him in September and he left USA Gymnastics in fall 2015 with little notice.
More than 90 women and girls have filed lawsuits against MSU, USA Gymnastics and Nassar and say in court documents that the doctor sexually assaulted them.
