The Buckeyes picked up a first down right out the gate and appeared on their way to another one near midfield, but the Spartan defense shut the door on third and short as Mike Weber tried to run up the middle.
That's a big start to the second half for this defense. An opening touchdown to start the second half would've put the Spartans on their heels going forward.
