EAST LANSING -- In the week leading up to Michigan State's season-opener, Matt Costello had a conversation with former Spartans big man AJ Granger.
In the offseason, he spent time studying the game of former Spartans forward Goran Suton.
There's a reason Costello chose those two to learn something from leading up to his senior year as a Michigan State forward: both big men took significant jumps in their final seasons in East Lansing.
Granger went from 6.6 points per game as a junior to nearly double digits scoring, at 9.5 per game, as a senior.
