Michigan State freshman Mitchell Lewandowski was named the Big Ten’s Third Star of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Lewandowski had four points last week, including three goals and one assist, as the Spartans split with No. 7 Wisconsin.
Lewandowski had a hand in all three MSU goals in the opener vs. the Badgers, scoring twice and adding an assist.
In Saturday's victory, Lewandowski gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead, scoring with 8:21 to play in the game.
The native of Clarkston is tied for the national lead among freshmen in both points (13) and goals (6).
