Going all 2016 NFL Draft long without hearing his name called, Michigan State defensive tackle Lawrence Thomas entered the league the same way he left college — with a major chip on his shoulder.

Thomas was once a top-100 recruit and had to fight for playing time during his first few years in East Lansing. The former linebacker gained weight and became a defensive lineman, eventually playing well enough to start as a junior. Two solid seasons as a starter later, Thomas has found his way onto the Jets’ roster via undrafted free agency.
