In one of the more Michigan State-loaded games of the preseason, eight former Spartans competed in the San Francisco 49ers vs. Houston Texans game on Saturday evening, with three players really standing out above the rest.
While Brian Hoyer is competing for the starting QB job for the Texans, he played sparingly and completed 2-of-4 passes for 67 yards and a score, looking great in the first drive.

The real standouts of the game, in terms of future Spartans, were former free safety Kurtis Drummond and former defensive end Marcus Rush — both were on the team a year ago and helped the Spartans win Rose and Cotton Bowls in their time at MSU.
