Keyshawn Johnson Jr. has some maturing to do before returning to the Nebraska football program.
That's according to his father, one of the NFL's recent great wide receivers, as he and Cornhuskers coach Mike Riley made the joint decision to have the younger Johnson return home before officially beginning his freshman year on campus.
Johnson Jr. had enrolled early in January in hopes of playing in 2017, and participated in Nebraska's spring game. In June, he was cited on suspicion of marijuana possession.
"One thing you will not do as my son is you will not embarrass Nebraska, you will not embarrass Mike Riley and you will not embarrass this family," the elder Johnson told the Omaha World-Herald.
