LANSING - Former Michigan State University football player Auston Robertson was given the green light by an Ingham County judge Tuesday to play football for a community college in Kansas.

Robertson, 19, is awaiting trial on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, and was dismissed from the MSU football team earlier this year.

Robertson has been accepted to attend classes and play football at Garden City Community College, his attorney, Brent Leder, said. The school, in Garden City, Kansas, won the 2016 National Junior College Athletic Association football championship.

Circuit Court Judge Clinton Canady III granted a request by Leder to amend Robertson's bond conditions to allow travel to Kansas.
