EAST LANSING -- Basketball coach Tom Izzo said he expects shooting guard Joshua Langford to be ready Friday, when No. 9 Michigan State opens its season against No. 11 Arizona in the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu (7 p.m., ESPN).
Langford, one of four players in a highly touted freshman class, missed both of the Spartans’ exhibitions with an ailing hamstring. Izzo said the 6-foot-5 McDonald’s All-America has practiced two days in a row for the first time since being diagnosed with the injury.
“He would really help us,” Izzo said. “He’s been very good, very efficient in practice.
