And while nobody is ready to crown the Boilermakers in the Big Ten West, there's evidence first-year coach Jeff Brohm already has things headed in the right direction.
In the opener, Purdue gave Louisville and Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson all they could handle. And then Friday, the Boilermakers took care of business against Ohio in their home opener, 44-21. Before, that was the type of MAC team that might give them all kinds of problems.
