Springfield, Mass. — It finally started to happen Thursday afternoon.
After “walking around in a cloud” for the previous couple of days, Tom Izzo was presented with his jacket as part of the 2016 class that will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame tonight.
“I just didn’t understand how to put everything together,” the Michigan State coach said Thursday. “You walk out there and they put that jacket on you and it puts you into a group I could only dream to be in.”
That 10-person group includes the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson and Yao Ming, along with Sheryl Swoopes and longtime Bulls executive Jerry Reinsdorf.
