It looked familiar in too many ways for too many stretches on opening night at Madison Square Garden.
And if it weren’t for Tom Izzo’s long, long resume of developing players and building teams at Michigan State basketball, Tuesday night’s 87-74 loss to Kansas would be concerning.
But it is Izzo.
And he’s rolled out too many teams that have looked sloppy and disconnected this time of year only to guide them to long runs in March. So … give it time.
Turnovers were an issue — again, the result of hesitant passes or forced post-entry passes or miscommunication.
