It has been a while since fans of Michigan State hockey has had any real hope of returning to the glory days as was in 2007 when Michigan State last won a national championship.
The Spartans’ last NCAA Tournament appearance was back in 2012. However, Michigan State is off to a great start at 3-1 after sweeping No. 8 ranked Cornell on the road. Head coach Danton Cole is only in year two of being at the helm of the hockey program but there are reasons be excited for this season for the green and white.
The major surprise of the season is the high-scoring offense and the stability and consistency in net.
