LANSING, MI - Michigan State University reached a $500 million settlement agreement with sexual assault victims of its ex-doctor Larry Nassar on Wednesday, but university officials haven't said how they will pay for it.
MSU spokeswoman Emily Guerrant said Wednesday that she couldn't yet comment when asked where the $500 million would come from, if insurance would cover most of the settlement, if tuition would be raised, or if state funding would be sought.
"These are details the university needs to work on in the coming weeks," Guerrant said.
The university's settlement comes after Nassar, a former MSU sports medicine doctor, molested hundreds of women and girls, often under the guise of medical treatment.
