How the darkest week in Michigan State history unfolded

Pull up Michigan State University’s home page on the Internet and you will see a teal-colored box displayed at the top.

“We hear you. We see you. We are sorry for your pain and grief. We commend you for your bravery and strength. We are committed to making MSU a safe and inclusive community for all.”

Teal is the official color for sexual assault awareness month. The statement, displayed next to the Spartan logo, is a reminder of the shame the university has endured, and is trying to overcome, amid a scandal that has become international news.
