EAST LANSING — Cassius Winston collected the inbound pass and brought the ball across midcourt toward immortality.
He called the play: “Double fist action.” Xavier Tillman anchored himself atop the right side of the key, straddling the 3-point line. His role? Set a pick for Winston, then roll to the basket, knowing a return favor and chance to help make history could come his way at any second.
Michigan State's point guard made a little hesitation move and dribbled toward Tillman, who slid to his left to bump Wisconsin's Brad Davison. Micah Potter flared out to stop Winston.
