EAST LANSING -- Brian Lewerke came to Michigan State three years ago as a shy freshman and laid-back kid from out west.
Heading into his second year as the team's full-time starting quarterback, he's still not one of the most talkative players on the team. Most of the time he still has that laid-back demeanor.
But as he was named one of Michigan State's three 2018 captains on Thursday -- along with safety Khari Willis and linebacker Joe Bachie -- another side to Michigan State's quarterback was revealed.
"I don't think you guys have seen Brian mad," Bachie said after Thursday's practice.
