WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Michigan State has done a good job limiting Purdue's "monster" frontcourt through 20 minutes.
But it has paid a high price to do so, as Purdue got red-hot from 3-point range and took a 46-30 lead into halftime at Mackey Arena on Tuesday night.
The Boilermakers hit their first five 3-pointers, and senior guard Rapheal Davis went 5-for-5 from deep and scored 19 points. As Michigan State had its guards play help defense in the frontcourt, that opened up the perimeter for the Boilermakers to kick it out and hit 3's.
Purdue led 12-4 early, then went on a 10-point run later in the half to lead 25-10 less than 11 minutes into the game.
