Halftime analysis: Michigan State takes slim 3-point lead into break at Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS -- Michigan State has half of its issues mostly solved from the Iowa game, but that offense is still proving problematic without Denzel Valentine.

The Spartans lead Minnesota, 32-29, at halftime Saturday afternoon at Williams Arena.

They've done so after a mostly strong defensive effort early, limiting the Gophers to 35.3 percent shooting (although against the second-worst shooting team in the Big Ten.)

After an early seven points by Bryn Forbes, the sharpshooting guard missed several open shots and finished the half 1-for-5 from 3-point range. Eron Harris, meanwhile, struggled to find open shots and missed his first three.
