On Friday, Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo reprised that glorious phrase of innocent discovery as he and his mother, Dorothy, exited the elevator on the second floor of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s basketball-shaped gallery overlooking a full-sized court.
Izzo is 61 years old and his mom is 90, but for that memory-making moment, among so many during his historic induction into the Hall of Fame with nine others over the weekend, it was 1966 again.
