Grayson Allen's 37 points doom Michigan State in loss to Duke

CHICAGO - In a game highlighted by a bevy of young talent, it was college basketball's most familiar face - and an old Michigan State foe - who ultimately played the hero role.

Duke senior guard Grayson Allen hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final three minutes to send No. 1 Duke to a 88-81 win over No. 2 Michigan State on Tuesday night at the United Center.

Michigan State (1-1) wiped out double-digit deficits in both the first and second halves and took a lead when Miles Bridges hit a 3-pointer with 5:17 left.

That set off a back-and-forth next two minutes, with both teams trading buckets until Duke's Gary Trent hit a 3-pointer with 3:11 left to give the Blue Devils a 3-point lead.
