Lansing State Journal columnist Graham Couch grades Michigan State's football team on a scale of 1-10 after its 35-13 season-opening win over Western Michigan.
OFFENSE: 7
This might wind up being a more impressive offensive performance by Michigan State as the season goes along and Western Michigan’s veteran defensive unit sinks its teeth into other teams. It was undoubtedly an uneven performance by MSU, though. There were a lot of things to like — namely four different receivers/tight ends catching touchdowns, without one of them being Jayden Reed. The big-strike ability of this offense is pretty clear and that’ll make life easier for MSU all season.
